The following information will help you have an enjoyable and hassle-free stay at Players Ski Lodge.
1. BEFORE YOU LEAVE
PLAYERS SKI LODGE has a fully equipped kitchen and supplies all basic condiments (salt, sugar, tea, coffee, spices, herbs) and cleaning needs. Breakfast ingredients (cereals, toast, spreads, etc.) are provided but other meals are your responsibility so you'll need to bring your own banquets. Supplies are available on the mountain, but they can be erratic and usually expensive. All beds have blankets and pillows. The only extra items you must bring are pillowslips, sheets and towels.
Your car's condition is important, make sure the engine is clean, battery and ignition system are in good condition, and there is Anti-freeze in the radiator. RACV services are available but it is usually a cold wait, and joining the RACV on the mountain is now no longer a cheap option!
During the ski season you must carry chains!!!. You will almost certainly have to fit them, so try them before you leave home. They must be tight and have only two or three spare links at the ends. Diamond pattern chains are recommended for their superior road holding compared with the ladder style. You can hire chains at Myrtleford, Bright and Harrietville but check they fit properly before leaving the shop. A chain lifting service is also available on the mountain during popular arrival times and most daylight hours. There is no petrol on the mountain so make sure you have enough to get up and down before you leave Omeo or Bright.
We suggest you ring the Hotham Road Report on 0357 593 531 prior to departure and check the road conditions. If the Harrietville Road is closed or likely to close you must go via Omeo.

Your car must be subsequently parked along the road or in a car park (Slatey Cutting etc.) as directed by the signs or attendants. A minibus service operates along the road to and from the car park.
